Howe 1242 Setup
Before any recordings can be started, each of the classrooms must be opened and prepared for the rest of the day. These instructions will teach you how to setup the Howe 1242 (ISU1) classroom.
Preparing for the First Class of the Day
1. Access the room using your student ID and switch on the lights next to the entrance door.
2. Switch the TV on the back wall ON.
3. Switch the lights ON next to the instructor’s PC.
On the Instructor PC...
4. Open the Desktop Presenter and minimize.
5. Open new page in Smart Notebook and minimize.
6. Open Mozilla Firefox
Click on the appropriate Adobe Connect link, corresponding to the first class of the day, on the bookmarks toolbar and login as ede@iastate.edu
Enable the Microphone and Webcam.
Start sharing for both the Webcam feed and the screen.
Adobe Connect should automatically minimize after you share the screen.
7. Open Panopto from the desktop.
8. Turn ON the three computers
The Encoder computer (far left) has Wirecast, which is used to record the cameras and instructor computer.
The middle computer is a copy of instructor’s PC (nothing can be performed on this computer).
